     Manitoba Telephone System provides both telephone and internet service provider (ISP) services.

Electricity:

         Primary Power Source - Hydro-electric

Cable Television:
     Westman Media Co-op -  Approximately 17 stations including CBC, CBC  Newsworld PBS, ABC, CNN, A&E, NBC, TSN, TNN, NBC as well as a variety of local stations.
     Shaw Star Choice and Bell Express Vu are available to both town and rural areas.

Community Access Channel 
     Birtle has a very active access channel that promotes various community events.

Internet Access:
     The Town of Birtle has a Community Internet Access location located at the Birtle Library that is available to the general public for free usage.  The Birtle Arena also operates a free WiFi hotspot for public use.
     The Town of Birtle and surrounding areas have several high speed Internet options.  In town residents can choose from MTS ADSL services or cellular USB "stick" services.  Rural residents can choose from Inetlink, cellular USB "stick", or Xplornet high speed options.  ADSL speeds in town typically are around 6 Mbit/second download and 0.5 Mbit/second upload - of course this does vary with location and equipment.
