Local and Regional Education Facilities:

The Park West School Division( www.pwsd.ca ), operates two schools in Birtle.    
The Park West School Division Office shares a building with the Birtle Elementary School which offers Kindergarten to Grade 6. The Birtle Colegiate Institute offers Grades 7 to 12. .

Built in 1986, has all the amenities a modern facility has to offer; a well equipped gymnasium, excellent central library, science room/ computer lab, and multi-purpose room are just some of the features of this school. The staff
consists of 10 classroom teachers, resource teacher,
Physical Education teacher and French teacher.
A full-time librarian, Home School Liaison Worker,
Secretary and several Educational Assistants make
up the support staff.  In addition, the school division
provides services of a psychologist, speech pathologist
and shared services social worker. 

    The Staff at Birtle Elementary School strive to offer quality education.  Developing each child's self-esteem as well as creating a positive school environment are a priority. The staff works hard at meeting the learning needs of each child.  Extra-curricular activities include intramural involving sports such as soccer, floor hockey and volleyball, school-wide home reading program, participation in music and speech festivals, field trips, and Artist In the School program (a government subsidized programs where Manitoba artists spend time in the school working with students in areas of their expertise), and many musicals.

    The Elementary School is heated and cooled with Geothermal, the first school in Manitoba to fully utilize this technology. The Collegiate is partially cooled with this

Maintains a program which demands academic excellence by offering a wide variety of courses with levels of interest and difficulty designed to meet students needs.

Birtle Nursery School:

   Birtle Nursery School is incorporated as a non-profit organization and provides a loosely structured play environment, supervised by qualified staff.
   Pre-schoolers are
given an opportunity to develop social, physical and creative skills. It is a perfect atmosphere for a child, full of curiosity, and ready to stretch for independence.


 

Morning Star Daycare:

   Morning Star Daycare is a non-profit organization. We are licensed for ages 12 weeks to 12 years with qualified staff and staff in training.

   We offer a wide range of curriculum activities in order to stimulate and enhance the child's development socially, physically, emotionally, and  intellectually.
