Birtle Miniota CDC

There are exciting new things happening in the Prairie View Municipality. The oil drilling and production is booming along the west side of the municipality. The nearby potash mines are expanding with PCS Rocanville well into its 2.8 billion dollar expansion project and Mosaic at Esterhazy just embarking on its 1.5 billion dollar expansion.

These industries have brought and continue to bring many new people to the area. PCS Rocanville continues to hire additional permanent employees while Mosaic expects 100 new permanent positions with its expansion.

In addition, the fertile farm land supports mixed farming operations and related agribusinesses for our area's traditional agriculture based economy.

PVM is also pleased to announce they have joined in the Park West Fibre Optic Co-op which will see the installation of Fibre Optic to all schools in our municipality, with the goal of one day seeing this service available to the residents and businesses of the communities of Prairie View.

This picturesque landscape with rivers, valleys and capturing vistas offers a community where home is like a resort but with the services and amenities of community.

Nestled right in the middle, is our municipality which is thriving with amenities, offers beautiful views, and is always looking to expand. If you are interested in investing, working, or a starting a business in any of our communities, please feel free to contact either of our local Economic Development Officers.

Welcome to "The Outlook". A weekly, free publication sharing information on news and events happening in Prairie View and surrounding areas. "The Outlook" is available at local businesses, can be emailed directly to you and is online.  Please send anything you'd like to see in The Outlook to birtleoutlook@live.ca

The CDC begin publishing the Outlook in 2011. We would like you to note that the CDC staff does not write any of the articles, they simply compile all the submissions and put everything together.  If we do not have any submissions then we will not publish that week. The Intent of the Outlook are many.

To provide organizations a low cost alternative to Advertising their events. We do not charge if things are in a article format. Non-profit organizations generally get advertising for free IF they submit the ads. Business can also submit articles for FREE but they do pay for advertising.

To assist people with knowing what is going on in the region and let organizations tell people – in one place- what is happening. We have approximately 235 online subscribers, we post on facebook, instragram and print copies that are distributed in Birtle, Miniota & Foxwarren. You can also view all past issues on the Municipal Website

So that we can all feel a sense of Pride in all that is happening. We don’t have many rules…but the articles MUST be positive in nature. If you want to complain about something we aren’t your outlet.

Many of our subscribers are past residents – they love to know what is happening in the place they were so fond of. We also know that our newsletter reaches many in neighbouring communities that like to keep informed.
